As always, Evil!Janeway is hot, though less so than the Living Witness version. It's the eyes - our main characters all have huge eyes, so the somewhat more realistically animated adult human characters look slightly uncanny valley, even though their eyes ought to make sense.

Also, damn, Chakotay has got some arms! Is this true IRL? I don't remember ever seeing the live actor ever without sleeves....

Also also, I honestly love every time Gwen gets a moment of happiness, no matter how small. She really has had a miserable life. Every second chasing replicated pie over the ship, or squirting whipped cream into her mouth, or, one hopes, finally spending some time playing goofy holodeck games, is a second worth living. And so, I will say, I appreciate that the animators took the time to let her smirk a little when Evil!Chakotay proposed starting his torture session with "the cute one", aka Murf the Indestructible. You gotta find those moments of joy when you can, sweetie!

(Question: Are mirror tribbles... nice? What about their new team pet, Bribble? Would Bribble have a goatee and be evil in the mirror verse? How sapient is that thing, anyway?)

I don't want this getting lost in the links: A Journey Through the Dystopiaverse (some of those poems hit hard)

In personal news, how many nos is one expected to get before they get a yes?

I managed to find some non-doom-and-gloom links to shove in here as well )

Today was a better day. The boss had the day off so it was quiet and I had plenty of reports to do.

The new girl is fitting in nicely. She is friendly and listens to her trainer. The other guy tried to out talk the trainer and kept talking about how another coworker uses the bathroom a lot. Yeah medical reason... everyone is okay with it, but this guy wouldn't let it go and he was only with us 7 days. She is also very nice with customers so I think she is a good fit.

The weather seems a bit colder than usual. If we get rain Saturday it will be 13 Saturdays of rain and will set a record. The garden is not where it should be and I have no tan lines. Poo....

I think I want to see Jurassic Park Rebirth... not for any plot, but just to see the dinosaurs. I saw the first movie...it was memorable as it was the first movie I saw where I had to go pee. The T-rex going after the kids in the jeep was the scene. It was intense at the time. I didn't see any of the other movies. Maybe I just want to see a swimming T-rex.

I have found a you tube channel called The Grumpy Old Crone. She amuses me as she grouses about silly things in the pagan and witchcraft community. She also set me on another channel called The Tiny Angry Witch. I adore it. It is stop motion animation about a teeny tiny angry witch. I make the same noises she makes. It Cracks me up.

I saw a book that sounds fascinating. "The Women Who Threw Corn" Its about women from Spain, North Africa, Senegambia and the Canaries accused of sorcery in 16th century Mexico. I was bummed to find out that it doesn't come out until September. That and it costs $39. The Kindle edition costs $37. That is a lot of money.

I mentioned privately last week that I'd been accepted for enrolment into the Canadian Dental Insurance Plan. The one that our federal government hired Sun Life to administer for everyone earning less than C$90K/year and not already covered by their employer or their province?

That one.

I finally got the card in the papermail from Sun Life today.

Orange and pink and white plastic.

It's just hitting me now that, after over three decades of paying out of pocket by instalments for my dental health basics - exams, fillings and repairs of same, that sort of thing - I no longer have to worry about that part of my life's financial juggling. It's already covered through my federal income tax from now on unless I land a sufficiently lucrative job with its own coverage.

Hoping it all works out.

Monday I’m going to start a new job with a totally new group of people I don’t know.
I was tempted to print up little index cards with information about me.
But, then I couldn’t think of what to tell folks.

Any recommendations?
